Thea Goodman reads from her debut novel The Sunshine When She’s Gone

March 14, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

When Veronica Reed wakes up one frigid January morning, two things are “off.” First of all, she has had a good night’s sleep, which hasn’t happened in months, and second, both her husband and her baby are gone. This is a fresh, funny, and wisely observed debut novel about marriage, and about the love, longing, and ambivalence exposed when a husband takes a baby on a highly unusual outing.

Thea Goodman’s short stories have appeared in New England Review, Other Voices, Columbia, Confrontation and The Brooklyn Review among other journals. She is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize Special Mention, the Columbia Fiction Award and residency fellowships at The Ragdale Foundation and The Corporation of Yaddo. Thea holds an MFA from Brooklyn College, CUNY and has taught writing at New York University, The New School University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
